Ambler Student Caroline Kershner Studies in Austria

University of San Diego student, Kershner, will take classes in both English and German in the heart of Vienna, Austria in the fall.

University of San Diego student Caroline Kershner of Ambler is studying in Vienna, Austria this fall.

The semester-long program is offered in association with the Institute for the International Education of Students (IES) whose Vienna Center is situated in the Palais Corbelli, an elegant, 18th century palace in the heart of Vienna. The extensive curriculum includes courses in both English and German, and offers qualified students the opportunity to take courses at local institutions such as the Universität Wien, the Hochschule fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien, and Konservatorium der Stadt Wien (Vienna Conservatory of Music). Vienna is beautifully situated on the river Danube at the edge of the majestic Austrian Alps and has been an important crossroads since the time of the Romans.

Kershner is majoring in humanities and plans to graduate in Spring 2013.

The University of San Diego is a Catholic institution of higher learning chartered in 1949; the school enrolls some 7,800 undergraduate and graduate students and is known for its commitment to teaching, the liberal arts, the formation of values and community service. The fall 2007 establishment of the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies brings the University's total number of schools and colleges to six. Other academic divisions include the College of Arts and Sciences and the schools of Business Administration, Leadership and Education Sciences, Law and Nursing and Health Sciences.
