Blue Bell resident and Fort Washington native has helped raise $7,000 for lung cancer research.

Blue Bell resident and Fort Washington native, Dr. Sharon Testa learned she had stage IV lung cancer on Memorial Day of 2009, according to a report in the Ambler Gazette.

She began a trial study of chemotherapy treatments from the University of Pennsylvania in Dec. of 2010.

Today, Testa continues her fight against cancer, while working full time and being a full time mother of twin 13 year old girls.

"To raise awareness and the much needed funding, Testa said the seventh annual Free to Breath Lung Cancer Walk will be held Nov. 4 at Memorial Hall in Philadelphia."
