George J. Pasceri, Longtime Ambler Councilman, Dies at 79

George was a graduate of Ambler High School an a US Air Force veteran and served on Ambler Borough Council from the mid-1970s until 1986 and then again from 2002 until present.

 

Long time Ambler resident, George J. Pasceri, died February 8 at his home. According to the Ambler Gazette, Pasceri was battling lung cancer.

In his obituary, "He was born in Ambler on February 2, 1934 to the late Bruno and Maria (Dattilo) Pasceri. George was a graduate of Ambler High School. He served our country in the US Air Force in the Korean War."

Pasceri has served on Ambler Borough Council, serving two-terms in the mi-1970s until 1986, and according to the Gazette, served as Council President in 1986. 

He served on Council again between 2002 until present. Pasceri's brother Sal also serves on Council.

Pasceri founded the Wissahickon Athletic Club and was very involved in Ambler's youth athletics.

The funeral mass for Pasceri was held on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Ambler.

Memorial donations in Pasceri's name can be made to the American Cancer Society, 480 Norristown Rd., Suite 150, Blue Bell, PA 19422.
