Main Street Vintage Offers Unique, Restored, Vintage Furniture
Main Street Vintage, at 18 N Main St. has vintage furniture, framed vintage prints and more.
Main Street Vintage, located at 18 N Main Street in Ambler, opened in early November, offering vintage furniture, prints and more.
Jeanne Cooke, with her business partner Wheezie Strasko take beat up vintage furniture and make it new again. Most of the furniture pieces offered in the store have been painted, many in soft neutrals of darker shades like black and browns. Pieces that still have a good finish and the wood isn’t too beat up, preserve the unpainted wood.
Cooke said about 50 percent of their furniture are bedroom pieces, and the other half a mix of pieces for other rooms.
She added that the painted items are also distressed to give a weathered, vintage look to them.
Cooke is from North Wales and frequently came into Ambler for the restaurants, and when she and Strasko decided to open a store together, Ambler seemed to be the perfect fit.
Main Street Vintage offers more than just furniture, though. Framed, vintage prints are also available, and if you see something you love but isn’t the right color for your home, it can be special ordered.
Even if you see a piece of furniture in the store but the color isn’t what you had in mind, it can be painted a different color, but it cannot be taken back to wood. People can also special order pieces.
If you love a piece but can’t afford the whole thing right away, Main Street Vintage also offers layaway. As well as gift certificates if you want to give Main Street Vintage to someone special.
Main Street Vintage is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
