A trio of thefts occurred over the past week in Ambler.

Editor's note: The following items include information provided by the Ambler Borough Police Department. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

Theft: A resident in the 1000 block of Kellogg Drive reported that on Feb. 07, while she was at a business in the 300 block of East Butler Avenue, someone allegedly entered her vehicle and stolen her purse containing cash, various credit cards and identification. The area was checked by police to see if the actor(s) discarded the purse, with negative results.

Theft: A resident in the 300 block of East Ormandy Place, Ambler, reported that while at a local restaurant in the unit block of North Main Street, someone allegedly stolen her wallet. The wallet was valued at $50.00 and contained $10.00 in cash.

Theft: A resident in the 100 block of Mary-Ambler Way reported that a package was allegedly stolen from their property. The package was delivered to their home, but once they returned home, the package was gone.

Walt-that is disappointing. I hope it gets more exposure and can lead to an arrest. I hope you are all safe over there (I know that neighborhood on my way to Plymouth Mtg. Mall)

Laura, if the Shell station had outside cameras it would help deter such crime. I think the owners should be forced to put cameras up by the borough. I know I won't be buying gas at the Shell station again, ever!

I completely agree with you about cameras. Gas stations are prime locations for crime. It could help save lives on the extreme end and yes, be a deterrent. I have to say that after the Shell employee said cameras were only inside the store, I noticed the Sunoco I usually go to does not have them either. I am going to keep an eye out for gas stations that do, if nothing else, out of principle. And I won't go back to that Shell station. They seemed like they could not care any less when told what happened by my, as well as by the Ambler detective. I lost a major amount of cash. But like I said, thank goodness my kids were not in the car, etc. Thanks for the comment!

Sorry for your loss but I must tell you the story sounds a bit far fetched the way you tell it. I cannot imagine that you are not aware of your surroundings in this day . Everyone must be able to know when they are not safe. Not to say I don't believe you, but I wouldn't be the only one......

This is a crime that happens every day in the US. Criminals are smart and have their ways of sneaking up when you are not looking and definitely target expensive cars. Don't be so nasty to a crime victim people. It could be you next!

Oh BTW, they gave your partial address in the police report, you are giving us your name, what are you hoping for another excuse for another robbery? or on purpose?
You are not acting normal.
