Poll: Where's the Best Coffee Shop in Lower Gwynedd-Ambler-Whitpain Patch?

Tell us which coffee shop is the best of the best.

It’s that time again, when we here at Ambler Patch turn to you, our reader’s to tell us who the best of the best is in the Lower Gwynedd-Ambler-Whitpain Patch area. This week we’re looking to find out what’s the best coffee shop.

Where do you grab your coffee in the morning for work, or where do you go for an afternoon caffeine pick-me-up? Would you choose Starbucks in Spring House, or Caffe Maida in Ambler? Or are you more of the Dunkin Donuts kind of coffee drinker, with locations at Butler and Bethlehem Pike in Ambler, Skippack and Butler Pikes in Ambler and Skippack and Dekalb Pike in Blue Bell? Or do you take your coffee with gourmet donuts from Ambler Donuts?

In the event of a tie on our survey, we will break the tie by counting the positive comments written below about the tied businesses, so please let us know why you think your choice is best.

If you think we are missing the best coffee shop in town, tell us in the comments and we’ll add them to the poll.

Mary Anne and Lori - thanks for your suggestions! I thought about adding Wawa, but we are looking for the best coffee shop. In a few weeks we'll poll for the area's best coffee, which I believe Wawa will fit into better.

That said, I'd love to hear discussion on what everyone thinks of as a coffee shop and how you would describe a coffee shop.

The one by the train station "Jo-Jo's java joint" went out of business :( Julia's is a deli, not a coffee shop - it's a great deli, though!!

Agreed! Heather makes a mean egg salad sandwich (so good!). She does serve really good coffee there, too.

What about Toto's on Main Street? They have excellent coffee and it's
a great local place.

If you are looking for a traditional sit in coffee shop, cafe Maida is the best. They have amazing cappuccino and have really goof "regular" coffee too. Toto's also has great cappuccino, although I usually wind up going there for gelato. If you are looking for the best take out, one the way to work type coffee then Ambler Donuts is definitely the best. No need to go to a chain like wawa or starbucks when there are so many great locally owned places.

Cafe Au lait (at the Fort Washington train station) Should be added to this list. Recently opened, they have THE BEST coffee.
