Recipe: Slow Cooked Herb Roasted Turkey

Use your slow cooker for the holiday bird and free up space in the oven for other dishes.

On Thanksgiving, the more room in the oven the better, and making sure your turkey is tender and juicy for your dining guests is key.

If you’re only cooking for a few people, or have a larger slow cooker, why not put the bird into the slow cooker and free up space in your oven for other dishes? Like sweet potato casserole or stuffing, potato filling, homemade dinner rolls, or even bake a pie during dinner so it’s fresh and warm for dessert.

A 2 ½ lb. breast will approximately feed a family of four with leftovers. Butterball has a great calculator to determine how big of a turkey you need to buy.
