When is Trick-or-Treating?

Trick-or-Treating in Lower Gwynedd, Ambler, Whitpain and Upper Dublin.

Lower Gwynedd Township

Larry Comunale, Lower Gwynedd Township Manager, told Patch that Lower Gwynedd does not have an official day for trick-or-treating. However, the township is urging "parents to use common sense about being out at night considering all the debris on and near the roadway and the lack of functioning street or property lighting."

Whitpain Township

Whitpain Township has not taken a position either way on trick-or-treating in the township. However, Roman Pronczak, Township Manager, told Patch that if power outages in the township continue, it could be more dangerous to have children out.

The Township invites parents to bring their children in costume to Wentz Run Park on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 2 pm for a Halloween parade and candy.

Ambler Borough

With a number of streets in Ambler Borough still without power, as well as a number of trees and wires down throughout the borough, Halloween trick-or-treating has been pushed back until Satruday, Nov. 3 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Upper Dublin Township

The Upper Dublin Board of Commissioners has announced that Halloween events and trick-or-treating will be moved to Saturday, Nov. 3, due to the loss of power in the township for most residents. "We caution all parents and children to avoid any road, street or sidewalk hazards or any other storm debris," read the Commissioners release.

I really wish the officials would make a announcement that Halloween will be moved to Friday night. It will be safer for everyone. There is a lot of confusion as to what is going on.

I sort of agree with luscious. Halloween doesn't have to be a big candy grab and it is up to parents to keep their children safe. Why does the township have to decide when is Halloween. What they should do is suggest that it may be unsafe for kids to Trick or Treat and let the parents go from their. Unless it is so unsafe that they issue a government intervention like an evacuation order or travel restrictions like when they closed the highways. Why do we need big Trick or Treating events? Celebrate on Halloween in a smaller safer way. Parents need to be the parents of their kids Why does government need to do anything? And why do we need to reschedule a small holiday, kids get plenty.
