Wissahickon High School Brings Back Hall of Fame

Three Wissahickon graduates will be inducted into the district's Hall of Fame.

The Alumni Committee has announced the reintroduction of the Wissahickon Hall of Fame Ceremony. The event will be held on April 26 at the Wisshickon High School Auditorium beginning at 6:30 p.m. This year, the committee will honor three outstanding alumni.

Sam Tsui, a 2007 graduate, started a YouTube cover channel after leaving Wisahickon with fellow WHS and Yale classmate Kurt Schneider, which quickly went viral and established a huge worldwide fan base. Their videos, which feature both popular covers and original songs, have garnered hundred of million of view online.

Tsui has had multiple appearances on the Oprah and Ellen shows and was featured in TIME Magazine. He is currently living in Los Angeles and is the backstage host of NBC’s “Sing Off.”

Paige Miller, a 2001 graduate, is a true athlete-scholar. An NCAA Academic All-American honoree, she competed in the 2008 Women’s Olympic Trials Marathon while completing her Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences at Penn Sate University.

She also earned her Masters in Public Health in Quantitate Methods from the Harvard School of Public Health.

A passionate runner, Miller is currently a Fellow at the National Cancer Prevention Institute.

Gina Bundy-Cavorsi, a 1997 graduate had had a remarkable athletic and professional career. A five-time Big East Heptathlon and Atlantic-10 Conference Champion in the Triple Jump, Heptathlon and High Jump, she received the Student-Athlete of the Year Award in Track and Field in 2000-2001.

In 2002, Bundy-Cavorsi competed on the US Bobsled Team and finished third place in the World Cup Tour.

Today Bundy-Cavorsi serves as the House Staff President for Psychiatry at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and is also the alternate delegate for Pennsylvania to the American Medical Society.

In a press release, Wissahickon High School Principal Lyn Fields said, “We are very excited to welcome such outstanding alumni back to Wissahickon. Their accomplishments stand as sources of inspiration for our students and entire community.”

The Wissahickon Hall of Fame has been reinstituted this year after a decade long hiatus.

“The district has a long tradition of graduates who have had a remarkable careers,” said Fields, “we are very proud to bring this tradition back to our school community.”
