Wissahickon School Board to Vote on 2012-13 Budget Tonight

The Wissahickon School Board is scheduled to vote on the 2012-13 operating budget at tonight's public boar meeting, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

On the agenda is the board vote to approve the , with expenditures estimated in the amount of $85,814,013 and revenue of $83,324,743. The final budget does not include a tax increase for residents, leaving the millage rate at 17.65 mills.

Tonight, the will also present to the Board on their budget needs. According to document 9 as part of the Board agenda, which is a letter from library director Anne Frank, the library is asking for an increase for 2.5 percent for the 2012-13 fiscal year, which is $25,050.

The library tax is a separate line item on a family’s real estate bill each year, and the increase would amount to $1.49 more per family with a home appraised at $200,000.
