Fat Sam’s Sammich Blog: The Fire Jumper

Fat Sam’s Sammich Blog

The Fire Jumper

Hidden on the 2nd floor of a building off of 3rd Ave in Collegeville, you will find the Appalachian Brew Company.  Obviously the reason one heads to a brew house is to taste some good local craft beers, and that they have.  A great selection of beers, is certainly the draw, but this is a sammich blog, so let get down to the meat and potatoes of it.

As a guy with no fear of heat, I went right for “The Fire Jumper”.  This burger boasts jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, and chipotle sauce, with a side of chipotle lime mayo.  The burger, although good in taste, was way on the rare side, as opposed to the medium I ordered.  The fries had something more to be desired,
but dipping them in the chipotle lime, was a genius Fat Sam move.

Meat Proportion: Average sized patty, too “mooing” for me, but a good size non-the-less.

Bread: The Burger was served on pretty good bread, that soaked up all of the hotness.

Condiments: This is where the Fire Jumper stole my heart, the jalapeños were perfect, and the chipotle sauce was magical, and the chipotle lime mayo brought all the tastes together, and saved the fries.

Toppings: in addition to the afore mentioned jalapeños, the burger came with the standard lettuce, tomato, and onion. The tomato and onion we good, but I could go without the giant piece of lettuce, just not appealing.

Officially giving the Fire Jumper 3 out of 5 chomps. Cook the burger and you would have had another chomp.

Other Notables: BEER!! It is a brewpub after all, go for the beer, stay for the food. The beer selection was great.

Until next time – Don’t eat anything Fat Sam wouldn’t eat!
