Forest & Main Brewers Nominated for Rising Star Award

The brewers from Forest & Main Brewing Company in Ambler have been nominated for Rising Star Award from StarChefs.com.

A few local craft breweries were nominated for StarChefs 2013 Philadelphia Rising Stars Award.

In a letter from the features editor, Caroline Hatchett explained the StarChefs team visited 10 breweries and would announce the winner of the brewer award at the Feb. 21 Rising Stars gala at the Kimmel Center.

Brewers Daniel Endicott and Gerard Olson of Forest & Main Brewing Company, located on Main St. in Ambler, were nominated for the award.

In his article for StarChefs, Alex Kalaf, "The duo spent a year and a half renovating the building with help from family and friends and opened in mid 2012. Endicott brings his experience studying traditional cask ales in England to the beer list, and Olson balances the menu with heavily carbonated and funky Belgian farmhouse and sour ales."

According to the Forest & Main Brewing Company website, the local brewed was voted "Best Brewpub in Philadelphia" by Philadelphia Magazine for 2012.

The brewpub also announced earlier in February the beginning of Happy Hour at the bar, Monday through Friday.
