Join us the Sunday after Easter for Holy Humor Sunday! What is Holy Humor Sunday, you ask? In the early church the Sunday after Easter was observed by the faithful as a day of joy and laughter with parties and picnics to celebrate Jesus' resurrection.
The customs of Bright Sunday, as it was called, came from the idea some early church theologians had that God played a practical joke on the devil by raising Jesus from the dead. Easter was God's supreme joke played on death-"risus paschalis"-the Easter laugh!
Last year, at UDLC's inaugural Holy Humor Sunday, Pastors Lawlor and Anderson played the Blues Brothers, on a mission from God, trying to get the band back together. This year, they take their dramatic skills to new heights as the crime fighting duo, Batman and Robin.
