Montgomery County Community College’s Drama Club and Theatre Arts program will present “An Evening of Thornton Wilder”— four one-act plays written by the master dramatist, on Nov. 15, 16, and 17 at 8 p.m., and on Nov. 17 and 18 at 2 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre, Science Center Lower Level, Central Campus, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell.
Funny, touching and richly theatrical, Thornton’s plays, “The Happy Journey to Camden and Trenton,” “Queens of France,” “The Long Christmas Dinner,” and “Pullman Car Hiawatha,” will provide an entertaining evening of classic American theatre suitable for the entire family. The three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning author of “Our Town,” shares the comedy in human folly and the warmth of family and community in these well-known works.
The cast includes Khalil Lewis, Zach Baum, Britney Brunswick, Bruno Alves, Kaylee Irwin, Cassie West, Vince Fittipaldi, Hiba Ansour, Janee Sanders, Cheryl Sahawmeh, Ken Hayse, Mark Hendricks, Brian Shim, Julia McIntyre, Khalil Lewis, Steven Buck, Abe Kim, Dan Nguyen, Tim Odum, and Khadijah Graves.
The production staff incudes Camila Romero Dos Santos, Carolyn Dixon, Vince Fittapaldi, Chris Donahue , Jessica McGrath, Jonathan Holness, Juhyun Park, Katie Schnaath, Martin Gentry, Bruno Alves, Khalil Lewis, Khadijah Graves, Patrick Carlino, Randall Lyster, Stephanie Giudice.
“An Evening of Thornton Wilder” is directed by Theatre Arts Instructor/Drama Club Advisor Michael Whistler, assisted by Carolyn Dixon and Stage Manager Katie Schnaath. All elements of production created and built by students of Theater Arts 150 (Theater Production Workshop) under the direction of Tim Gallagher.
