MSU Choir Concert
The Morgan State University Choir, under the direction of
Dr. Eric Conway, will perform on Sunday, April 27th at 4:00 PM at

This annual event sponsors the
scholarship program of the Morgan State University Alumni Association,
Philadelphia Chapter.
The Morgan State University Choir is one of the
nation's most prestigious university choral ensembles. The choir is noted for
its emphasis on preserving the heritage of the spiritual, especially in the
historic practices of performance. Classical, contemporary, and popular music
comprise the choir's repertoire.
The Morgan State
University Choir has performed for audiences throughout the United States and
all over the world - including Virgin Islands, Canary Islands, Canada, Africa,
Asia, and Europe.

One of the Choir's
most historic moments came with the opportunity to participate in the memorial service
for Nelson Mandela at Washington National Cathedral. The Morgan group collaborated with the South African Community
Choir in anthems from Mandela's homeland.
Another special
moment was when the choir performed under the baton of Robert Shaw, conducting
the Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Conservatory.
