Fourth-Grader Raises $330 for CHOP Food Allergy Research

Aidan McKelvey, a student at Lower Gwynedd Elementary, organized a lemonade stand fundraiser on Halloween, with an original goal of $50.

When Aidan McKelvey set out to raise money for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia with a lemonade stand on Halloween, he had a charitable goal of $50.
The Lower Gwynedd Elementary fourth-grader surpassed that goal, raising $330 for CHOP's Food Allergy Research division.
McKelvey, of Blue Bell, has had a lion's share of food allergies. Unfortunately, his younger brother also faces the same challenges.
The impetus of the lemonade stand was to promote good citizenship, following a recent class lesson on the ethos.
Aidan's mother, Vicky, said the community was very supportive of the effort.
"We'll see," she said, "maybe we will make it an annual event."
