Kitty Cottage is inviting all "party animals" to come out to celebrate the adoption center's 10th anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Empress Room at . Tickets are $55 per person.

Kitty Cottage is planning a night of "fabulous food, live music, dancing, door prizes and a basket auction."

Kitty Cottage is a no-kill, cage-free adoption center for homeless cats where the cats can enjoy lounging on comfy chairs, cat trees and condos while the wait for visitors to give them the love they crave.

"We get a lot of visitors that just come to hang out," Kitty Cottage Manager Shelli DeFazio recently told The Times Herald. "It's good for them and it’s good for the cats. Volunteers from health care facilities come in and spend time with the cats, and it’s therapy for them."

As Abraham Lincoln once said, "As I would not be a slave so I will not be a master" Pet ownership demeans humans through the less than admirable need to dominate ,a small pet that will not seriously strike back or burden one's Social Contract conscience. I will get a cat at Kitty Cottage right after the last human is adopted. The increasing pet mania is a poor substitute in a society that doesn't get involved with the stray and abandoned and neglected fellow humans we either see all around us or avoid seeing if they are shut-ins.

Oh this sounds like a great event! The Kitty Cottage is a great place and my family has adopted cats from there in the past. I'm sure this event will be awesome.
