Alfred G. "Fred" Suriano, 88 of Ambler

He was a graduate of Ambler High School Class of 1941 a lifetime resident of Ambler and served in the US Army during World War II.

Alfred G. "Fred" Suriano, 88 of Ambler PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Tuesday November 13, 2012, at the Abington Hospice in Warminster.

Born in Fort Washington, PA, he was the son of the late Antonio and Philomena (nee Marciano) Suriano. He was a graduate of Ambler High School Class of 1941 a lifetime resident of Ambler and served in the US Army during World War II.

Fred worked on the family farm on Limekiln Pike in Jarrettown and started a salvage yard business, Fred's Used Auto Parts, on the same property. The business was one of the original founders in 1964 of the Pennsylvania Auto and Truck Association (PATSA). He closed the business in 1988 and retired.

Mr. Suriano was a Life Member of the NRA, the Bucks County Fish and Game Assoc., The Flourtown Sandy Run Sportsman Assoc. and the Lower Providence Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid trap shooter and small game hunter. He enjoyed hunting quail and grouse with the many German short hair pointers he trained. 

He is husband of the late Anna Nancy (nee Cooper) Suriano and the Father of Elaine Suriano of Falls Church, VA. He is the loving brother of Mary Winslow of Dresher and Kathryn Goren of Everett, Washington. He is also survived by his wife Francis Jean (Nee Brock) Suriano.

Relatives and Friends may call Saturday November 24, 2012 from 10:30 to 11:30AM at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, with a Memorial Service at 11:30 AM.
