Frank J. Puleo, 89, of Center Square, formerly of Norristown, passed away on May 29, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Norristown, PA on July 2, 1922, and was the son of the late Diego and Philomena (nee Bono) Puleo.
Frank was a US Army Veteran, serving in World War II. He served proudly for his country in Italy and Algeria as a Technical Sergeant responsible for overseeing the pharmacy unit during the European African Middle Eastern Campaign.
and received the Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal, and the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Stars.
Frank was a route salesman/driver for 20 years for Hostess Cakes. He would spend the next 20 years working for Frank's Nursery, Jack's Produce, and Clemens Markets as a customer service associate.
Frank enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
Frank is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret (nee DeMarco) Puleo, his four children: Frank Puleo, Jr. of Center Square, Sharon D'Alessandro and her husband John of Conway, SC, Elaine Branco and her husband Christopher of Collegeville, James Puleo and his wife Kathleen of Blue Bell,
seven grandchildren: Dawn, Paul, Sherri, Marlene, James Jr., Ryan, Carl, eight great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Also, he is survived by one sister, Mary Lewandowski (Erwin) of Norristown and three brothers, William Puleo of Skippack, Charles Puleo and Joseph Puleo both of Norristown.
Frank was pre-deceased by a brother, Russell Puleo of Jeffersonville.
