Kathryn E. Balme, 87, of Lower Gwynedd, died Wednesday at Artman Lutheran Home in Ambler, according to her online tribute by The Intelligencer.
Balme was employed for years as an illustrator for Merck Pharmaceuticals. While working as an artist for Curtis Publishing, one of Balme's Christmas cards she designed was on the cover of Saturday Evening Post, per the tribute.
Balme graduated from Abington High School and received a full scholarship to the Moore Institute of Art in Philadelphia.
