According to Whitpain Township Police, on Friday, Sept. 28 at approximately 8:51 a.m., police officers responded to for the report of an armed robbery in progress.
The cashier, Catherine Edinger, told officers that a white male in his 20s, between 5'3" and 5'6", approximately 150 lbs., wearing a black hoodie, a black sweatshirt, white sneakers, a red baseball cap under the hoodie and a scarf over his face had allegedly robbed the store.
According to Whitpain Township Police reports, the cashier told officers that the suspect entered the store, went right to the register, had allegedly implied that he had a gun and demanded money.
Edinger reported that she handed over all the money in the register and the suspect fled on foot.
Through a police investigation, police were able to determine that the suspect was allegedly working with Edinger and was a female, identified as Lauren Young, 23, of the 800 block of Combine Lane in Yardley.
According to Whitpain Police reports, both Young and Edinger, 23 of the 1500 block of Lafayette Way in Blue Bell, were arrested for Robbery, Theft, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Paraphernalia.
Both were arraigned by District Justice Margaret Hunsicker and remanded to Montgomery County Correctional Facility on $25,000 cash bail.
