Harassment, DUI Reported in Whitpain Township

DUI: On Feb. 16 at 2:05 a.m., an officer stopped a green Jeep on Skippack Pike near Cathcart Road for allegedly committing several traffic offenses. During the stop, the officer allegedly noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver, identified as Ryan Haney, 23, of the 600 block of Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown.

Haney was later taken to Mercy Suburban Hospital for blood testing. During the investigation, officers also allegedly located a pipe containing burned marijuana.

Charges including DUI, possession of paraphernalia and traffic offenses will be filed upon receipt of blood results.

Harassment: Alicia Flores, 41, of Ramsgate Court, was arrested for harassment after police received a complaint from her estranged husband that she allegedly sent him approximately 150 text messages in a 24-hour period.

Flores allegedly ignored requests from the victim, as well as previous warnings from police, not to have contact with her estranged husband. 

Public Drunkenness: On Feb. 16 at 12:57 a.m., James McDonald, 37, of the 200 block of Caspian Lane, Norristown, was arrested for public drunkenness after an officer allegedly found him walking along Township Line Road, wearing dark clothes during a cold rain.

As McDonald walked to the police car, he allegedly stumbled in the roadway and was slurring his words. He was cited and released to his father.
