MCCC to Hold Emergency Exercise on Friday

Montgomery County Community College, along with Whitpain Police, the County Sheriff's Department and Montgomery County Emergency Operations Center will hold a test emergency exercise on Friday.

As part of an ongoing effort to practice and assess protocols for emergency situations, The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, the , Montgomery County Emergency Operations Center and , will stage an emergency exercise at 8 a.m. on June 15 in MCCC’s Advanced Technology Center (ATC).

As a result of the exercise, the ATC parking lots will be closed to all vehicle traffic and parking beginning early morning. Because this impacts the SEPTA bus stop, buses will be rerouted for approximately four hours. Buses will enter the campus at Morris Road and will turn left to pick up and drop off passengers at the concrete pad along the loop road just prior to lot #1. Buses will then exit campus at Cathcart Road.

During the drill, building occupants will be evacuated, and test emergency messages will be issued.

In addition to the lead agencies listed above, other participating agencies will include ATF, FBI, Pennsylvania State Police, Whitemarsh Township Police, Cheltenham Township Police, Delaware County Sheriff K-9, Chester County Sheriff K-9, 2nd Alarmers Ambulance and Center Square Fire Company.
