Police Impersonators Wanted for Attempted Burglary of Whitpain Home, Cops Say

Whitpain Township Police are searching for three black males who allegedly attempted to burglarize a home on the 1800 block of Meredith Lane.

Whitpain Township Police are searching for three suspects who allegedly attempted to burglarize a home on the 1800 block of Meredith Lane while wearing sweatshirts that read "POLICE."

Police initially responded to a report of an attempted burglary in progress at 1:13 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18. Once on scene, the victims reported that three black men allegedly tried to open the front door of the home. 

The report states that the victims opened the door to investigate, at which point one of the men attempted to push the door in. The victims were able to quickly close the door before the men could gain access to the home, at which point the men fled on foot through the rear yard towards Forest Creek Drive.

Two of the men were described as wearing a black sweatshirts with the word "POLICE" printed on the front, and the third man was described as wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
