Northampton Man Punched Woman in Head While She Was Driving: Police
Ryan Hillegass, 26, of Kreidersville Road, allegedly punched a woman in the head as she was driving on DeKalb Pike, police said.
A Northampton County man has been charged with simple assault and harassment for allegedly punching a woman repeatedly in the head while she was driving on DeKalb Pike in Whitpain Township, police said.
Ryan Hillegass, 26, of the 3800 block of Kreidersville Road, was arrested Aug. 11 at 5:47 p.m., police said. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Sobeck, who set bail at $10,000 unsecured, police said. Hillegass is free on bail.
Police received a report of an assault that was occurring in a green Pontiac traveling south on DeKalb Pike, police said.

The witness, who was north on DeKalb Pike, reported that Hillegass, the passenger, was allegedly punching the female driver of the Pontiac in the head, police said.
The driver of the Pontiac drove into the oncoming lane several times while being punched allegedly by Hillegass, police said.

Officers saw the Pontiac leave the parking lot of Wawa at 1010 DeKalb Pike and proceeded south on DeKalb Pike, police said. Police stopped the Pontiac at Yost Road, police said.
