Towamencin Man, Hatfield Woman Busted for Pot in Whitpain: Police

Whitpain Township Police charged Mariah Hendricks, 18, of Hatfield, and Alex Acciani, 18, of Towamencin, with various alleged drug offenses after they were detained in the Giant Food Store parking lot, police said.

A teenager from Hatfield Township and another teen from Towamencin Township were charged with various alleged drug offenses in Whitpain Township.

Police said an officer on patrol July 30 at 12:54 a.m. found three persons hanging out in the parking lot of Giant Food Store at 1760 DeKalb Pike.

During the incident stop, the officer smelled marijuana, and subsequently found paraphernalia inside a sunglasses case, police said.

Officers also found a jar containing pot, police said.

Mariah Hendricks, 18, of the 2500 block of Jean Drive, Hatfield, was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge and possession of drug paraphernalia with marijuana residue, police said.

Alex Acciani, 18, of the 400 block of Cedartop Court, Towamencin, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance, police said.
