Whitpain Police Reports: Assault, reckless Endangerment, Four Thefts

Police incident reports from Whitpain Township Police Department.

Reckless Endangerment - On Sept 12th at 4:10 pm officers responded to the Montgomery County Community College for a report that someone was trying to sell four stolen textbooks to the bookstore. The bookstore employee determined that the books were stolen. Andrew Choma, 28 yrs old of the 200 block of Runner St in Jenkintown became nervous and ran to a silver Hyundai and almost struck the MCCC Security vehicle while fleeing in his car. He was located driving north on Butler Pk, stopped by an Ambler police officer, and taken into custody. Three additional textbooks were located in his vehicle bringing the value of the stolen books to $1,484.30. He was charged with two counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Theft and Receiving Stolen Property. He was arraigned by District Justice Borek and bail was set at $10,000/10%. He was unable to post bail and was remanded to Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

Retail Theft - On August 13th at 3:19 pm, employees of reported a black female wearing a yellow shirt stole $47.45 worth of merchandise and fled from the store.  The subject fled but an investigation determined that the actor was Donna Nocho, 29 yrs old of the unit block of Franklin Ave in Phoenixville. She was charged with felony Retail Theft and Receiving Stolen Property. On Sept 11th she turned herself in before District Justice Sobeck and waived all charges to Montgomery County Court.

Assault - On Sept 15th at 3:15 am police received a report of an assault in the area of 875 Dekalb Pk. When police arrived they found a 30 yr old male subject bleeding from the head. He reported that he was walking on Dekalb Pk when a red Ford 4-door sedan pulled up and two Hispanic males asked him if he needed a ride. When he replied that he did not, both occupants got out and struck the victim in the head several times with an unknown object. The victim in turn reported that he stabbed one of the subjects in the shoulder with a knife and both fled in the car traveling west on Skippack Pk. The victim was transported to Mercy Suburban Hospital by Second Alarmers Rescue Squad. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Whitpain Police Department at 610-279-9033.

Public Drunkenness - On Sept 22nd at 8:17 pm, Pernell Turner, 53 yrs old of the 400 block of Railroad Ave was arrested for Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct after police were called to his residence for a domestic. When they arrived they found Mr. Turner yelling in the street and uncooperative. He was taken into custody and officers located a small baggie of a white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine. 

DUI - On Sept 12th at 1:55 am, an officer on patrol noticed a green Mazda traveling south on Butler Pk driving outside of the travel lane. The officer stopped the car in the area of Ridings Way and while talking to the driver, Ian Wing Chi Mark, 48 yrs old of the 3800 block of Violet Dr in Philadelphia, the driver appeared intoxicated. Mr. Mark was taken to Mercy Suburban Hospital for blood and charges including DUI and traffic offenses will be filed upon receipt of blood results.

Vandalism - On Sept 11th at 10:04 am, police were called to the 1600 block of Pulaski Dr for a domestic. When police arrived, Shawn McGlade, 21 yrs old of the 100 block of Walnut Ln in Ambler was already gone, but had sent a text to the victim stating “I hope you like your car”. The victim went to her driveway to find scratches in her Toyota Camry. It was estimated the damage would cost $1,000 to repair and Criminal Mischief charges were filed against Mr. McGlade at District Court.

Retail Theft - On Sept 23rd at 8:52 pm Fatima Zahra El-Isamy, 25 yrs old of the 1000 block of Carriage Dr was arrested for Retail Theft at the It was reported that Ms El-Isamy concealed $382.00 worth of perfume and clothing items without paying for them. She was arrested for summary Retail Theft and released.

Theft - On Sept 20th at 2:41 police met with a 61 yr old female who is a student at Montgomery County Community College. She reported that while working in the library, someone stole several credit cards out of her wallet when she walked to the printer. She reported that her photo ID and several cards were taken.

Theft - On September 20th at 12:56 pm police met a 24 yr old male student who reported that while in the cafeteria, he had a Kindle Fire on the table where he was seated. He reported that he got up to get a drink and when he returned the Kindle Fire, valued at approximately $200.00, was gone.

Warrant Service - On Sept 15th at 2:34 am an officer on patrol came across a gray Mitsubishi stopped in the intersection of Skippack Pk and Penllyn Blue Bell Pk. As he approached the vehicle he noticed that both the occupants were sleeping. As he spoke with the occupants, he learned that there were two outstanding fine and cost warrants for the passenger, Vincent San Pedro from Whitpain Township totaling $172.00. The officer collected the outstanding $172.00 for the warrants. He was also issued a citation for Driving Under Suspension and the passenger drove the vehicle home.
