Whitpain Police Reports: Blue Bell Man Arrested for Reckless Endangerment

Police incident reports from Whitpain Township Police.

Possession of Drug Parapherenalia - On Thursday Oct 4th at 12:54 am, while on patrol in the 1900 block of Skippack Pk, police observed a female riding a bicycle. The female was wearing dark clothing and was difficult to see since there were no lights or reflectors on the bike. The female appeared possibly intoxicated by a controlled substance since she was acting very hyper, agitated and nervous.

The female was identified as June Hartman 48 yrs of the 1500 block of James St. in Norristown. Hartman admitted to being in possession of drug paraphernalia and having outstanding warrants for unpaid traffic tickets. Hartman was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, false identification to police and an active warrant from Whitpain Township.

Reckless Endangerment - On Monday Oct 1st at 3:04 am police responded to the 1100 block of Rosewood Drive for multiple reports of shots being fired. Two males were observed in a black Honda Accord which was parked in a driveway of Rosewood Drive. The driver was identified as Gregory Mastrangelo 22yrs of the 1100 block of Rosewood Drive Blue Bell. Multiple spent .45 caliber rounds were found on the ground by the driver’s door & a loaded .45 caliber Smith & Wesson was found in the car. Drugs and drug paraphernalia were also found inside the car and Mastrangelo appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and/or a controlled substance.

Mastrangelo was arrested and charged with Reckless Endangerment, drug charges, Disorderly Conduct, Public Drunkenness and a Township Ordinance violation. Mastrangelo was arraigned in front of D.J. Patricia Zaffarano where bail was set at $25,000/10% and was remanded to Montgomery County Correctional Facility since he was unable to post bail.

The passenger was identified as David Hodgdon 28 yrs of the 200 block of Caspian Way Norristown. Hodgdon also appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and controlled substance. Hodgdon was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Public Drunkenness and later released.

Liquor Law Violation - On Tuesday Oct 2nd at 12:16 pm, police responded to Dekalb Pike at Village Square for a motor vehicle crash. While police were questioning the driver, he admitted to having alcohol in the trunk of his car. Jonathan Zeidman, 19 yrs, of the 100 block of E. Montgomery Ave Ardmore, PA., was arrested and charged with possession of alcohol while being under the age of 21yrs. Zeidman was eventually released.

Fraud - On Friday Oct 5th at 12:23 pm, police were dispatched to Normandy Farms Estates 3100 block of Twin Silo Drive regarding a scam. Female victim reported that she receive a phone call from someone she thought was her granddaughter.  The caller told the victim that she and her friend were picked up at the United States/Mexico border and were being held at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City. A male then told the victim that she needed to send $1,900.00 in U.S. currency to post bail for her granddaughter.  After the money was paid they called the victim back and requested an additional $1,800.00 in court fees. Money was again paid by the victim.

After being told by the caller that her granddaughter was released, the victim called her son to find out that her granddaughter was never in Mexico and was home. Total loss to the victim was $3,793.00 including fees.

Retail Theft - On Thursday Oct 4th at 8:32 pm police responded to the Kohl’s Department Store 1301 Skippack Pk, for a reported Retail Theft with a subject in custody. Police were advised by Kohl’s loss prevention that a female concealed merchandise and passed all points of sale and left the store without paying for the item. Police arrested and charged Evanie Belony 48 yrs of the 2100 block of W. Cheltenham Ave. in Philadelphia for Retail Theft. Ms Belony was cited and released.

Vandalism - On Friday Oct 5th at 8:06 am, police met with the victim at Whitpain Police Department for a report of criminal mischief to her vehicle which occurred on Oct 1st at Montgomery County Community College. The victim said she parked her car in the Parkhouse Hall parking lot in the morning. When she came out in the afternoon she noticed that her front tire was flat and intentionally punctured.

Warrant Service - On Wednesday Oct 3rd at 10:20pm police observed Matthew Ciliberto 27 yrs of the 300 block of Valleybrook Rd in Ambler, sitting on some steps in the 400 block of Railroad Ave. Mr. Ciliberto was found to have an active Whitpain Police warrant for failure to respond to a driving under suspension, DUI related citation issued by Judge Sobeck. Mr. Ciliberto was released and advised by Judge Sobeck to appear in front of him with the fine money.

Warrant Service - On Friday Oct 5th at 5:45 pm, police observed a silver Honda CRV traveling northbound in the 600 block of Dekalb Pike. The officer recognized the vehicle and the female driver and he was aware that there was of an active warrant out of Philadelphia.  Dianna Diclementi 20 yrs, of the 1100 block of Fairview Ave was taken into custody. Ms Diclementi was turned over to Philadelphia North East Detective Division on their warrant.
