Ambler Council President Resigns, Takes Water Treatment Plant Job

Isabella was not at the most recent Ambler Borough meeting.

In the days following the election in Ambler--one where Democrats took all open seats--another seat has opened up in Ward Three, now that Ambler Borough Council President Tony Isabella has resigned from his seat.
Isabella, co-owner of Caffe Maida on East Butler Avenue in Ambler, has taken a job with the borough wastewater treatment plant and cannot work there and be a councilman at the same time, per Ambler Gazette.
Ambler Borough is now accepting letters of interest from residents of Ward Three who are interested in being appointed to Isabella's open seat.
"He resigned about a week-and-a-half ago for personal reasons, and it went into effect when it was submitted," said Ambler Borough Manager Mary Aversa in an e-mail. "He was offered the position, which he accepted after his resignation was submitted."
Aversa confirmed that holding both positions would be a conflict of interest.
Councilman Sal Pasceri told Ambler Gazette that Isabella’s seat could be filled as soon as Nov. 19 or Dec. 2 at the latest.
Letters of interest can be mailed to Borough of Ambler, 122 East Butler Ave, Ambler, PA 19002 or submitted via email to manager@borough.ambler.pa.us.
