Wissahickon School Board Member Supports Keeping Mattison Open

School Board member, Dick Stanton, spoke up in support of keeping Mattison Avenue Elementary open.

Wissahickon School Board member Dick Stanton, at Monday night's board meeting, read a statement that supported saving Mattison Avenue Elementary.

According to a report in the Ambler Gazette, Stanton said in his statement that the Ambler parents choose to send their children to Mattison, investing "collectively millions of dollars in their homes."

However, he said while moving children from Mattison to a K through 5 school would "create efficiencies in communication regarding students progress" the "quality of teachers and curriculum would remain at the same high level."
