Community, Local Officials Gather to Dedicate Plaque to Mary Ambler
The plaque ensures the legacy of Mary Ambler lives on.
On Saturday, July 17, local officials and the community came together to dedicate a plaque at the Ambler Train Station in the name of Mary Ambler. “We honor those who are not here with us and recognize those here with us,” said Pat Thomas, dressed as Mary Ambler for the event. The plaque serves as a record of the tragic train accident that happened on the site 155 years ago, and Mary Ambler’s leadership and nursing skills that saved many lives.
